Pride season is one of the best times of year to be in Richmond — and here's something a lot of newcomers don't realize: while Pride is celebrated nationally in June, Virginia saves its biggest celebrations for September. Whether you've lived in RVA for decades or you're thinking about making it home, here's everything you need to plan for VA Pride 2026 — starting with the big one right in the heart of the city at Midtown Green.
The main event: Virginia Pride — Saturday, September 12, 2026

Virginia Pride is the Commonwealth's flagship Pride celebration, and it fills the heart of Richmond with music, local vendors, food, all-ages activities, drag performances, and local groups from across the region. It's free, it's welcoming, and it draws tens of thousands of neighbors every year. Bring water, comfortable shoes, and plenty of time to wander — the vendor rows alone are worth the trip.
Getting there & making a day of it
Midtown Green sits right in the middle of the city, so parking fills up fast. Consider rideshare, biking, or arriving early. Once you're there, you're walking distance from some of Richmond's best restaurants and cafés, so it's easy to turn the festival into a full day — brunch beforehand, the festival through the afternoon, and dinner in the Fan or Scott's Addition after.
